By Washington Post editors

Update, 11:45 p.m.:

Maryland State Police have identified the two highway workers killed in Charles County Thursday and the driver who struck them.

Police said Marlon E. C. Lorenzo, 28, of the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle in Silver Spring, and Erick T. M. Alvarado, 24, of the 2000 block of Evans Parkway in Silver Spring, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was identified as 24-year-old Yuri M. F. Vielot Jr. of Hyattsville.

Two men picking up trash on the side of a road in Waldorf Tuesday afternoon were killed when a car lost control and hit them, WUSA9 reports.

Police say the men were working near the intersection of Berry Road, also known as Route 228. They were contract workers for the state.

Most importantly, condolences to the families of those lost.

C'mon WaPo, cars do not lose control, their drivers do. And Berry road IS Route 228. Get the basic facts correct, please!
