Frederick Co. faces $17M shortfall
A new Frederick Board of County Commissioners will take office on Dec. 1, but the financial woes that have plagued the current board for much of its term will continue, the Gazette reports.
With county budget officials forecasting a $17 million shortfall in fiscal 2012, which starts July 1, 2011, the new board will have to decide how much money will go to roads, schools, fire and police protection and a slew of county agencies and nonprofit groups.
