3rd person struck by car at Md. church dies
A third person has died from injuries sustained after a car struck a group of people leaving an Emmitsburg church.
Police say 89-year-old Marian Derosa of Emmitsburg was hit by another parishioner's Mercury Mountaineer Aug. 8 as she left Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Frederick County Sheriff's office says Derosa died Wednesday afternoon.
Derosa's daughter Patricia Mauro-Cillo and son-in-law John Cillo died the day they were hit.
Authorities are considering whether to charge the SUV driver, 63-year-old Mary Camilleri, of Fayetteville, Pa. Investigators say she struck the pedestrians as her car accelerated rapidly in reverse while she was trying to parallel park in front of the church.
