Academy departure, investigation linked
The Navy Times reported Tuesday that the departure of the Naval Academy superintendent appears to be related to an internal inquiry on questionable spending at the Annapolis school.
An investigation found that Naval Academy officials working under Vice Adm. Jeffrey Fowler had created an account to fund a $10,000 party for the academy’s golf association and $1,000 worth of wine for a dinner party at the superintendent’s house, among other things.
