Alleged Md. Safeway thief shoots self

By Washington Post editors

Sometimes solving a crime takes years and years. Sometimes it just falls into your lap, reports Eye on Annapolis.

On July 13th, Brian C. Plattenburg, 28, of Glen Burnie hid in the Safeway on Forest Drive and was able to successfully rob the store of approximately $500. He fled the store and was chased by two employees who heard a gunshot. He got away and police were unable to locate him … until they got a call from Harbor Hospital five hours later. A click here will tell you the rest of the story.
