Annapolis High student charged with rape

By Washington Post editors

A 17-year-old Annapolis High School student has been charged with luring a fellow student into a wooded area near the school and raping her, The Baltimore Sun reports.

Police said that Troy Traon Reid led the girl from school property to a wooded area across from the Arundel Olympics Swim Center on Sept. 29 and sexually assaulted her.

The girl reported the assault on Oct. 1, and police officers were called in.

Reid has been charged as an adult with attempted second-degree rape, first and second-degree sex offense, sodomy and other related charges. He is being held without bond at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.

No shocker here- Annapolis has it's ghettos and section 8 neighborhoods that rival SE DC for crime thugery and drugs. What was the age of the victim? Hope she is ok and the rapist gets to spend a long time in a cell with his new 'friend ' Bubba!

This just the beginnig in his "career". Lock him up for life, keep him off the streets. He will reoffend.

It does not make a difference where this type of conduct happens, because it is every where regardless of the neighborhood, whats sad is that the age of the rapist are getting younger and younger. People have no respect for no one now-a-days.

Before you condemn this poor girl to "stupidity hell", did you stop to think that she may have considered this punk a friend, or at the very least, a fellow classmate from school and not someone dangerous? Sexual predators are usually the most charming, outgoing sociopaths out there. It's very easy for them to find victims. They know how to use what they've got and always to their advantage. Ask Natalie Holloway and Stephany Flores. They've been there.

This idiot was out on bond from a previous sexual assault when this happened.

From the local Annapolis newspaper, The Capital: www.hometownannapolis.com

"An Annapolis High School senior charged this week with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student Sept. 29 was out on bond for previous charges of rape when the second incident occurred, court records show."

Glad the Post printed his name.
Glad he is 17. Publicly outed as a sexual predator and criminal instead of our goofy laws shielding him and allowing him anonymity as a "juvenile".
