Maryland official faces DUI charge

Anne Arundel County police say the director of the Maryland attorney general's civil rights office is facing drunken driving charges.
Carl O. Snowden was arrested early Tuesday in Crownsville after police say an officer saw his car veer across the center line on Route 97 and straddle the shoulder several times.
A police report says the officer noticed the smell of alcohol as Snowden said he'd had one drink. Police say a breath test showed a blood-alcohol level of .09 percent.
Snowden is charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving and other traffic offenses. This was Snowden's third drunken driving arrest since 2002.
Snowden did not return a phone call from The Baltimore Sun seeking comment.

"...Snowden said he'd had one drink."

He should also be charged with lying to a police officer.
