Baker 'listening' session set
The presumptive next Prince George's County executive, Rushern Baker, will focus on education Tuesday evening when he conducts his second "listening session" designed to hear county residents' concerns, Miranda Spivack reports on the Maryland Politics blog.
The meeting, open to the public, is from 7-9 p.m. at Lake Arbor Elementary School, 10205 Lake Arbor Way, Mitchellville. On Wednesday, more than 200 people came out to discuss public safety at Baker's first forum, held at Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro. A third forum on economic development is scheduled Oct. 28 at a location to be determined.
Baker, who on Sept. 14 won the Democratic nomination for county executive, has made education reform a cornerstone of his campaign.
