Columbia's bell tower coming down
Columbia's iconic lakefront bell tower is coming down, The Sun reports.
The bell tower is scheduled to be dismantled in late May or early June because of concerns about safety. A recent examination by Century Engineering showed major deficiencies in the structure, but it is not believed to pose any imminent danger, the paper reports.
It will be rebuilt once the planned redevelopment of the area gets underway.
