Driver leads police on chase, hits officer in MoCo
Montgomery County Police say they are searching for a driver who led officers on a chase, then hit an officer.
Spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says officers responded to an alarm at the Frost School in Rockville around 3:30 a.m. Friday and caught one person on the scene. But he says a second person fled.
A short time later officers tried to stop a car that matched the description of the one the suspect was driving, but the driver refused to stop. When the car slowed on Capitol View Avenue near Kensington, officers positioned themselves around the car.
That's when Starks says the driver accelerated and hit one officer. He says two officers fired shots and the driver took off and crashed on Beechbank Road in Silver Spring. The driver fled on foot and police are still looking for him.
