Embalming fluid spill on I-70
A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 70 in Mount Airy on Tuesday, spilling its hazardous load and clogging the interstate's lanes, WTOP reported today.
While traffic is now moving in both directions, eastbound I-70 has only the left lane open. Westbound I-70 is completely open. The alternate route, Md. 144, which had been closed at Long Corner Road, has been reopened.
The truck jack-knifed and overturned, spilling its cargo. Maryland State Police Sgt. George Frazier told WTOP that the truck was carrying embalming fluid, wood sealant and refrigerant.
