Former Frederick teacher facing sex abuse charges
A Frederick County grand jury has indicted a former kindergarten teacher on charges of sexually abusing a child at school, according to the Frederick News Post.
Matthew Berresford, 31, was indicted by a grand jury Friday. He faces charges of sex abuse of a minor. The abuse is alleged to have occurred throughout the 2008-09 school year.
Frederick County Public Schools spokeswoman Marita Loose says Berresford worked at North Frederick Elementary School. Berresford did not return to the school after police began investigating allegations against him.
