The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says a 6-year-old boy has drowned in a swimming pool.

It happened Saturday about 3:55 p.m. at a home on Cove Court. Deputies say two adults were sitting near the pool when they saw the boy under water. They pulled the boy from the pool and began CPR.

He was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The drowning has been ruled an accident.
