Greeting cards with drugs sent to Md. jail
St. Mary's County authorities say they have arrested a woman for sending two greeting cards with crushed prescription pills to an inmate.
Officials said Wednesday that 36-year-old Stephanie Lynn Thomas of Hughesville and 25-year-old Jacob Steven Traas of Hollywood face conspiracy and delivery of contraband charges.
Thomas is accused of sending a card with Adderall pills crushed to a powder to Traas, who is an inmate at the county jail.
Capt. Daniel D. Alioto, of the county's bureau of criminal investigations narcotics unit, says after detectives learned about that card, they intercepted a second greeting card containing powdered Suboxone, which Thomas had sent to Traas.
