ICE will not pursue mother of Md. student

By Washington Post editors

The mother of a Maryland second-grader who questioned First Lady Michelle Obama about the Obama administration's immigration policy will not be deported, The Federal Eye reports.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement will not deport the mother, according to Matthew Chandler, a spokesman for the Homeland Security Department.

“ICE is a federal law enforcement agency that focuses on smart, effective immigration enforcement that prioritizes criminal aliens who pose a threat to our communities," Chandler said in an e-mail. "Our investigations are based on solid law enforcement work and not classroom Q and As.”

Yay! 3 cheers for illegal immigration! If the mother doesn't have papers, she can simply ignore the Federal Immigration Judge's order of deportation; hang around for 6 years in public housing, then get the reward of asylum, just like OBAMA's favorite auntie Zeituni Onyango.

What they meant to say is Obama is dedicated to making as many criminals into legal voters as possible since they'll vote Democrat. Forget about protecting our borders from gangsters and terrorists, creating more ACORN voters is the priority.

Free speech is protected by the Constitution, and this girl is an American citizen regardless of her mother's circumstance-- I would be proud to have a little girl with the courage AND smarts to ask a question that most adults would be too weak or dumb to ask the First Lady so delicately.

You take an oath to enforce the constitution & laws of The United States of America, when you become a peace officer. You can NOT selectivately decide which laws you will enforce & which laws you wont.

You have been told by FOX5DC, and MSNBC that there is someone here ILLEGALLY, and without papers. Admitted by their child, so stop drinking the coffee, put down that doughnut & ENFORCE the LAW.

You have the parents name, their address, and an admission by a blood relative that they are here w/o proper papers. What more do you need, to do your job???

Pretty annoying to me who is often asked to empty my bag and explain my short trip overseas to ICE Officials when I return to Dulles Intl' Arrival Area. I'm a citizen of the USA and get this regular hassle, but that little girl's illegal mother is not pursued? Excuse me ICE if I lose all respect for your "authority".
