Takoma Park installs new speed camera
If you drive though Takoma Park, here's something you may want to know.
Takoma Park Police announced Monday that a new speed camera has been installed in the 900 block of eastbound University Boulevard. Individuals caught driving 12 miles over the speed limit will be cited. Warnings will be issued starting Monday, but beginning Feb. 14, citations will be issued.
Speed cameras are currently in operation in other areas of Takoma Park -- one in the 7200 block of New Hampshire Avenue (southbound) and the 7100 block of New Hampshire Avenue (northbound). Two cameras also operate in the eastbound and westbound lanes of the 500 block of Ethan Allen Avenue.
Individuals with questions about Takoma Park's speed cameras can call the Safe Speed number at 301-891-7138 and leave a message.

It will be put to good use putting in lots more speed bumps and stupid roundabouts. After all, you wouldn't want people flying down your street at 70 mph as some stupid yuppie on my tiny street claimed people were doing when she was complaining to council for speed bumps. Bored yuppies with nothing better to do are ruining that city. Somebody should mobilize the illegals to vote. I bet their elected officials would do a better job since they probably have a better grasp on reality. Until then, I guess we can look forward to more bans on landscaping equipment.
