Locals win Miss Md. and Miss Va. crowns
Lindsay Staniszewski, Miss Montgomery County, has been crowned the new Miss Maryland and Caitlin Uze, a James Madison University graduate from Arlington, has been crowned Miss Virginia.
Staniszewski of Edgewater will receive a $10,000 scholarship and other gifts. She also will represent the state at the Miss America pageant. Twenty-two young women were vying Saturday at the downtown Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown for the title of Miss Maryland.
The winner of the pageant succeeds Miss Maryland 2009 Brooke Poklemba, of Westminster. Also at the event, Mary Teal Mulligan of Williamsport, Miss Hagerstown Outstanding Teen, was named Miss Maryland Outstanding Teen 2010.
Uze, 22, won the Miss Virginia crown after being the second runner-up in 2009. She competed as Miss Greater Richmond.
Uze earns a $16,500 scholarship for the achievement as well as a $500 scholarship for capturing the swimsuit competition. Miss Apple Blossom Festival Shannon Beam was named first runner-up at the pageant Saturday night in Roanoke.

Congrats
But I wish they would not allow makeup and fake breasts and fake lips and fake this or that into the pageants. Not that these winners had plastic surgery or anything. I have no idea but once how about Natural beauty winner?
