Man charged in double slaying in Prince George's
A Glenarden man has been arrested in connection with a double homicide this month in the Landover area, Prince George’s County police said Monday night.
Police said Marcus Gregory Newman, 27, of the 7900 block of Johnson Avenue was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the Jan. 5 fatal shooting, which was reported about 3:35 a.m. in the 7100 block of East Spring Street.
William Clinkscale Jr., 47, of the C Street, SE, in the District, and Darrin Leslie McGilvery, 47, of Zelma Avenue in Capitol Heights, were found shot in a vehicle and were pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
Newman was arrested Friday in Fairmount Heights, police said. They said he is being held without bond. Detectives do not think that the killing was a random act, the police said Monday night.
