Man dies after being hit by CSX train
A 28-year-old Ellicott City man died Sunday night after he was hit by a CSX freight train, The Baltimore Sun reports.
Howard County firefighters found Andrew Wade Pena of the 8500 block Timber Valley Court just before 8 p.m. near Frederick Road and Maryland Avenue in Ellicott City, police said. Pena was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died.
Police said there was no evidence of foul play.
A volunteer firefighter suffered minor back and neck pain after falling 10 feet during efforts to treat Pena. He was treated at Shock Trauma and released.
