Man hit, thrown onto tracks in Kensington
Train tracks in the Kensington area have reopened following a 25-minute shut-down to allow Montgomery County firefighters to remove a man who had been thrown onto the tracks after being hit by a vehicle nearby, authorities said.
The man, whose name was not released, has serious but not life-threatening injuries, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, spokesman for Montgomery's Fire Rescue Service. The man is in his mid-30s, Garcia said.
Metropolitan Avenue, which was closed at Edgewood Road following the 9 a.m. pedestrian accident, also has reopened, Montgomery police said.
The track closure between Kensington and Forest Glen affected CSX and MARC trains, but there were no significant train delays, Garcia said.
