Man's body recovered from Frederick dam

By Washington Post editors

Frederick County authorities say a man’s body has been recovered from a dam spillway at Lake Linganore near Frederick.

Frederick County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim Clarke said Thursday the remains are those of a white man, 20 to 40 years old.

Clarke says there are no substantial leads connecting the body to any missing persons.

He says the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

The body was recovered Thursday evening more than 24 hours after two fishermen spotted it and called police.
