Paul Stanley, 20, of Owings, was charged with four counts of distributing child pornography after an internet task force linked him to a computer offering videos on the internet earlier this month, police said.

Stanley was being held at the Calvert County Detention Center. If convicted, he could face 41 years in prison.

What do they say about drugs?

If you make it legal, there is no crime?

Try that with this stuff.

Someone has got to be wrong.

I bet this guy was just trying to make a buck.

Paul Stanley? the lead singer of Kiss?
he looks different without all the make up.

Let this be a lesson to all of you kids out there; Never leave your wireless network at home unsecured. change passwords frequently and turn off your modem when not in use.

Manson,

I think the police must have actually found a computer he owned with the videos on it. It would be rather absurd to arrest someone simply because some crook accessed their WiFi network. And, if the police did do such a thing, Mr. Stanley is going to be getting a nice paycheck from the county.

I didnt mean for it to sound like i was talking about this case specifically. it's just generally when I read about cases where the only thing someone is accused of involves a computer, it makes me wonder about the ability for someone else to of used their network, or their computer, and then they get charged.
Now if the accused was also found to have print outs, photos, attempted to meet a minor etc, it would sound more like they did it. Notice this guy is only accused of having 4 videos available for download, and there is no mention of him downloading anything else or them finding a mass of other material on his computer.
this guy could easily of just been set up.
when the only link to a crime is evidence on a computer "linked" to them, that doesn't seem like much evidence to me at all.
And it gives me pause to think about home network security in general and the need to maintain home network security as well as virus protection and other things to keep anyone from hijacking my computer or home network.

compare what they caught this guy with, to what they caught kevin ricks with.

and yet this guy faces 42 years in jail.
that seems pretty unfair to me.
