Md. trooper charged in child porn case

By Mike McPhate

A state trooper who spent eight years protecting Maryland governors has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, Baltimore County police said Monday.

Bruce Allen Tucker, 47, was arrested on Friday and charged with a number of child pornography counts over a period of several months.

Greg Shipley, a spokesman for the Maryland State Police, said Tucker spent eight years working on the state's executive protection unit, which protects the governor and lieutenant governor. Tucker worked on details during former Gov. Robert Ehrlich's administration as well as Gov. Martin O'Malley, who is the current governor.

Shipley said Tucker transferred to the state police Criminal Investigation Bureau in February.

Lt. Rob McCullough, a Baltimore County police spokesman, said Tucker has been with the state police force for 13 years and has been suspended without pay.

Tucker has been released after posting $50,000 bail.

Oh man, a little kiddie porn for the "State Boy". Let him do some time with Baltimore's finist like I had to.
Let me tell you something as a white boy ... until you've been locked up in one of those Maryland Juvenile torture cottages, no words could express, or convey the kind of animals that lurk behind those doors. I was a 17 year old middle class white boy who violated probation for breaking into a house. Montgomery Judge Alfred Noyes sent me up for an indefinite period to Maryland Trading School-Cub Hill, now Charles H. Hickey Jr. School in Baltimore County which is Cheltenham’s sister school. I was jumped several times by 4 and 5 of Baltimore City's finest. I was beaten trying to protect my rear-end. Being a paper boy, I was in great physical shape. The bleeding from both eyes couldn't be stopped for several hours in the clinic. I saw so many young white boys "go under".
An independent monitor faulted the juvenile justice department for not following past recommendations to reduce cases of assault and abuse. The report said further that there has been a "lack of cooperation" between investigating entities responsible for looking into incidents of abuse involving youths in the state juvenile detention center. "The level of abuse is simply grotesque," said Stacey Gurian-Sherman, who is director of JJ Fair, a community-based advocacy group for children that is based in Takoma Park.
I was released after I turned 18. From there I went to Vietnam .... I don't know which place was the worst, but I still remember the names of the animals who molested me. The governor said he closed it down, but it's not totally closed down. There’s a holding facility, and a sex rehabilitation center (what a coincidence) still located there. Because Maryland lacks residential treatment programs, many youths remain at Hickey and other detention centers for months while state officials try to find places in or out of state that will take them.

Oh my god. when are we going to admit that as a society in America, we have a crisis on our hands. Children are targets. Men have become predators. Please let's find a solution.

the solution fiatbooks, is to stop objectifying people thru comercialization.
stop treating children as consumers.
stop advertising to children by using other children as objects.
stop sexualising children in ad campaigns.
stop marketing to children.
stop selling make-up and adult clothing products to children.

I have a quick question... What are the events surrounding this accusation? Now don't get me wrong, if he was dealing with this for his own gratification, then there is something wrong with him, and he needs rehabilitative help with some jail time, no question. However, as a former law enforcement officer, I have dealt with investigations of child pronography in the past. There is a fine line between investigating these types crimes and the sickness of one who uses the investigation tool as an excuse. This paper, doesn't give you all of the facts surrounding this accusation. So I have to question it.

throatyogurt13 what reesemichael is trying to convey is that the punishment doesn't fit the crime in this country. Being locked up for a minor offense should not lead to a sentence of gang rape and possible HIV infection which is akin to a very bad death sentence. It is clear from your post that you are a sadist, and would explain why you sought work as a law enforcement officer, where you could exercise your sadism from behind the saftey of a badge. Your writing reflects a narrow mind, incapable of sympathy or empathy. And by the way, anyone who served in Nam or any other war for the benefit of this country (as reese did) has amended for any crime against society and is OK with me. Sorry this is off topic.

If Bruce Allen Tucker is guilty of knowingly possessing child pornography, then justice must be served.

On the other hand, there are people being arrested in the United States for possession of child pornography who, when arrested, didn't even know it was on their computer. When you are innocent, being labeled a child predator is devastating.

As a potential victim or a potential jury member, we should all become aware of this possibility.

We have compiled a listing of numerous articles that deal with the subject of innocent people being wrongly accused of possession of child pornography. This site also includes extensive court documents and the complete transcript of a trial on possession of child pornography.
