MoCo council candidates to debate
The budget fight may be over in Montgomery County, but the political battles are just beginning.
Ilaya Hopkins, a community activist in Bethesda, is challenging incumbent County Council member Roger Berliner (D-Potomac, Bethesda) in the Sept. 14 Democratic primary. They will debate 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jane E. Lawton Community Center, 4301 Willow Lane, in Chevy Chase.
An informal meet and greet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
