Montgomery launches 311 service
Montgomery County has launched a new system to provide non-emergency information about county services. Callers can dial 3-1-1 or go to a new county website www.montgomerycountymd.gov/311. Callers outside the county can dial 240-777-0311. The 3-1-1 line is reachable via most wireless phones, a county spokesman said.
Trained representatives who speak Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese and French are available, as is a language interpretation service for other languages. The TTY line is 240-773-3556.
