Mt. St. Mary's denies link to Gosselin
Mount St. Mary’s University says it has no official connection to a charity event featuring reality TV star Jon Gosselin, whose brother coaches women’s soccer at the Catholic school in Emmitsburg.
University spokeswoman Linda Sherman said Thursday that the athletic department didn’t get approval from the administration before issuing a press release Monday announcing that the event would benefit the women’s soccer team.
Gosselin is scheduled to appear Thursday night at The Greene Turtle sports bar in Frederick to pose for $10 photos with patrons. A restaurant spokeswoman says Gosselin will donate proceeds to the charity of his choice.
Gosselin is a divorced father of eight from Wernersville, Pa., who starred with his former wife in the show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
