Orioles owner makes bid for Rosecroft
Baltimore Orioles owner Peter G. Angelos has put in a bid to buy Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington and is pushing to bring slot machines there, The Baltimore Sun reports.
If the deal were to go through, Angelos would pay $9 million in cash plus another $5 million if slots are permitted at what was once a thriving center of harness racing.
The purchase agreement needs to be approved by the bankruptcy court. And there are several other issues that need to be worked out. Legalizing slots requires a voter-approved amendment to the state constitution. And Angelos is prohibited from having a direct ownership stake in a gambling business under Major League Baseball rules.

I used to go to that track when I was a kid. What a dump. I had fun though. Oh, and Angelos is a punk.

Huh? So either he sells the O's (we can only hope) or he can't do the deal. Few more facts would be helpful.
