A Chevrolet Tracker traveling east on Veirs Mill Road near Gridley Road collided with the man about 9:45 p.m., police said.

The pedestrian is described as a 5’ 2” Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old and weighing about 130 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball hat, a white t-shirt, blue jeans and tan work boots, police said.

The driver, 36-year-old Hector Ventura, remained on the scene after the collision. He was not hurt.

That's a busy little shopping area with a lot of foot traffic and people running to catch buses on different corners. Poorly lit in some places too.

MoCo and Pepco need to make some pedestrian upgrades to the area or more of this will happen.
