Pedestrian struck in Hillandale
A pedestrian was struck by a car and seriously injured Monday night in the Hillandale area of Montgomery County, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 8:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of New Hampshire Avenue at Elton Road, according to Capt. Oscar Garcia of the county fire and rescue service.
The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that appeared to be life-threatening, Garcia said.
The site is just outside the Capital Beltway and near the Hillandale Shopping Center.

Pretty soon they will be puting a fence right there, because too many people run across right there to catch the bus. I'm wondering why would METRO put a bus stop not far from a ramp exiting the beltway?
