A former assistant football coach at Flowers High School in Prince George's County was indicted Thursday on charges that he had sex with two 15-year-old girls, State's Attorney Glenn F. Ivey said.

Brian Gwaltney is charged with two counts each of child sex abuse, second-degree assault and third-degree sex offense. Gwaltney, 39, of Laurel, is also charged with four counts of fourth-degree sex offense.

According to the indictment, Gwaltney had sex with the girls in December and January. Gwaltney was fired from his job, a spokesman for the school system said.

Gee I wonder if nailing 2 minor girls was worth it...will be a convicted felon, have to register as a sex offender the rest of his life and Lord only knows what will happen to him while in prison.
Might want to do over on this one...DUH!

Ugh Dude...I got a 15 year old and ain't nothing appetizing about her friends man...They're 'babies'. All these thirsty 'can't find a man' chicks out here and you gotta stoop to THIS?

We gotta bring back public beheadings/chopping blocks. Just put the offending appendage on the block and WHAM!!

Put it on Pay-Per-View; it'll be bigger than MMA...

U Know.. the news media really has a way of blowing things out of porportion. they have already judged the man. i always thought that you are innocent until proven guilty. has anyone thought of whether or not these girls could be saying this for revenge because he wouldn't have sex with them... come on people let's not judge him before he's trialed.

Clearly it was consensual. Yea he's an adult, but these lil' fast girls need to slow themselves, I hold them just as accountable. He gets jail, they get to walk.

orison57,
"has anyone thought of whether or not these girls could be saying this for revenge because he wouldn't have sex with them..."
I'll grant you that is a possibility but, not a probability.
How many 15 year old girls are lusting after 39 year old guys? 20 year old guys maybe, but NOT 39 year old guys.
Guy approaching 40 wants to feel like a player again before he gets any older and somehow managed to hook up with 2 minors.
The girls are 15...not yet adults. He's 39...at least chronologically he's the adult.

This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. This year they have documented over 300 of these types of incidents. They also have a map of where the incidents have taken place. In 2009 they found 464 of these kinds of cases.

bigdaddy651..u r right ..chronilogical, he is the adult and that may be the reason why all of this has come up. I know someone who was in a simular situation and because he didn't respond to this young teenager who looked like he was an adult..she accused him of messing with her. My prayers go out for what this young man and his family is going through. The young girls of today are fast tale and they also shall be held accountable as well... for the role they played in this.. trust me, the y are not innocent.

It's amazing how triumph110 shows up with the exact same post on this type of article.

Coincidence?

orison57,
You seem to be giving him a pass. It is possible there was consent. But because both girls are under the age of LEGAL consent he's criminally charged.
If he's innocent then the evidence will show it and he'll be acquitted.
You're correct in that no one should convict him too soon. But how PROBABLE is it that he's as innocent as you seem to think?
There could be a conspiracy but it isn't likely.

There has not been a trial, so we don't know his side of the story. Could be like the PE teacher in Fairfax County who had a bratty little b@@@@ make allegations because he wouldn't cater to her. This guy could be totally innocent. I'm waiting to hear the facts, not just the accusation.

As a high school teacher parents entrust their students to me every day. The thought of being attracted to a kid is sickening. I hope justice is served and this teacher gets his just desserts. Yes, the girls are bratty and overly solicitous, but they are girls (15 years) and he is a 39 year-old predator.

ok i understand you cant judge a book by its cover. but i am a student at charles herbert flowers highschool. i am now a sophmoore and i can say that coach g was a perverted man. he has said sly comments to me and also some of my friends while walking down the hallway. i am glad to see justice being served.

You know you people really need to stop judging what the media is saying about this man. He has not even gone to trial nor have you heard his side of the story. I think that everyone should wait and see what evidence is presented in the courts before we pass judgement. I will be praying for him and his family because he is not the only one that is going thru this.

nemolittlefish, why are u commenting on it now..THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH US.. WE ALWAYS WANT TO KICK A MAN WHEN HE IS ALREADY DOWN.. BUT I SAY TO U AND ALL THE REST WHO THINK THEY NOW HAVE A CHANCE AT THE SPOTLIGHT TO GO AGAINST COACH G,WATCH HOW YOU POINT FINGERS BECAUSE THE ONE YOU HAVE POINTED AT HIM, THERE ARE 3 POINTED RIGHT BACK AT YOU.. IF HE IS GUILTY, JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED BUT UNTIL THEN, STOP DIGGING DITCHES BECAUSE THE DITCH YOU DIG MAY B THE ONE U FALL IN. ALSO, WHY COME OUT NOW...WAS IT BECAUSE YOU LIKED IT AT THE TIME..IS THERE SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT YOUR mom and dad need to know about you?

Posted by: mekie757 | July 24, 2010 3:35 AM | Report abuse

babygirl73.. i agree with you. i will keep him and his family lifted up in prayer. prayer changes things. I challenge all that no a word of prayer, pray for this family as well.. sometimes what man meant for evil, God mean it for good..this family is riding through a storm right now and the media will destroy a innocent man/woman life if u let them.
