Pr. Geo.'s police shoot man in Clinton

By Clarence Williams and Martin Weil

Updated, 7:55 p.m.

A Prince George's County police officer shot and wounded a man in the Clinton area late Friday while trying to stop an apparently stolen car, police said.

The officer spotted the car on Brandywine Road about 4:30 p.m. and tried to pull it over, police said. But, they said, the driver tried to get away and collided with an oncoming vehicle near Woodyard Road.

The officer got out of his vehicle and approached the car, but it backed up, and the officer thought he would be struck, police said. He fired a shot, wounding the driver, who was taken to a hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police released few details...

Probably investigating why the person wasn't killed by the officer.

Very dangerous things can happen when you steal a car to go to the liquor store.

Lemme guess, this guy wasn't as excited about the 8.9% unemployment rate as the leftist water carrying Obama sycophant media?

I'm impressed...4 comments in and no one has questioned whether it was a justified shooting yet.
This could be a record on WaPo when a police shooting takes place.

"...police officer shot and wounded a man in the Clinton area..."

OMG! He was shot in the Clinton area? That must have been painful! Exactly what part of the body is the "Clinton area"?

The Post could save significant time and effort by using one headline for virtually every story out of Prince George's County:

"Man shot by Pr. George's police"
