Region under severe thunderstorm watch
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. for the region, Capital Weather Gang reports.
The area under the watch includes D.C. and Alexandria, Anne Arundel, Arlington, Calvert, Charles, Fairfax, Falls Church, Fauquier, Howard, Loudoun, Prince George's Prince William, and Stafford counties.
The storms could include heavy rain, large hail, lightning, and isolated tornadoes.
