Rescue workers still trying to recover body

By Washington Post editors

Rescue workers in Frederick County are trying to recover a body found at Lake Linganore.

Frederick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Bailey says two men fishing at the lake spotted the body in the water near the dam around 2 p.m. Wednesday. Efforts to recover the body continued until 8 p.m. and resumed Thursday morning.

Bailey says rocks, debris and cold water are making the recovery difficult. The Frederick County Advanced Technical Rescue Team worked with swift water rescue teams from around the county to clear debris in an effort to free the body.

Bailey says investigators are looking into missing persons reports in Frederick County and surrounding jurisdictions.
