Search for U-Md. president on track
University System of Maryland Chancellor William "Brit" Kirwan said Friday the search for a new University of Maryland president is still on track.
A search panel is expected to name a successor to President C.D. "Dan" Mote by his Aug. 31 departure, Kirwan said, but an interim president may be tapped for "a relatively brief period of time."
Kirwan was responding to an article in the Diamondback student newspaper, saying the university might not be ready to replace Mote.
