Search on for missing boater
Maryland Natural Resources police say they are searching for a Port Republic man following the sinking of a fishing boat near Broomes Island in the Patuxent River.
Natural Resources Police say two other men on the boat were rescued by a jet skier Saturday night and the search is continuing for 50-year-old Timothy Bourne.
Police say 46-year-old Thomas Johnson of Hollywood was returning from fishing in his 20-foot boat along with Bourne and 37-year-old Julius Camp of Leondardtown when the boat had engine trouble. Police say Johnson anchored and called a marina and while they were waiting a large wave swamped the boat.
The three had lifejackets and the jet skier was able to relay two to shore, but could not find Bourne, who became separated.
