Small plane crashes in woods
A small plane ended up in woods near the runway Monday evening at an air field in upper Montgomery County, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Airpark in the Gaithersburg area. The pilot, who was alone in the plane, refused hospital treatment, according to the county fire and rescue department.
It was not immediately clear whether the plane was landing or taking off when the incident occurred at the facility on Airpark Road.
The field is about three miles northeast of Gaithersburg. It has a 4,200 foot runway.
