Smith Island Cake makes fat food list

By Washington Post editors

Health magazine has compiled a list of the 50 fattiest food per state.

Alabama has something called a bacon-wrapped meatloaf. Our arteries are clogging just thinking about it. California's famous In -N-Out burger double double makes the list. Indiana has a fried brain sandwich. Really.

And Delaware has a deep-fried pastry filled with crabmeat and cheese.

As for the states in the Washington metro region: It should come as no surprise that in Virginia it's ham.

In Maryland, Smith Island Cake, the official state dessert, makes the list.

According to the magazine, the cake consists of 10 layers of cake with chocolate icing in between. And most recipes contain 26 grams of fat per serving, enough for an entire day.

Check out the full list here.

And the District gets ignored again.

All the pork in the federal budget?
