Teen charged in Md. school bomb threat
Frederick County authorities say a 17-year-old boy e-mailed three bomb threats to Tuscarora High School in Frederick.
Sheriff's Office Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said Thursday that the youth has been charged as a juvenile with 15 offenses, including arson threats, e-mail misuse and resisting arrest.
She says a tip led investigators to suspect him after a school administrator received a bomb threat Feb. 7.
She says investigators then linked him to two other threats that were e-mailed to the school Oct. 11.
Bailey says deputies arrested the boy Tuesday at a shopping center near the school.
She says he had recently walked away from a juvenile detention facility in Montgomery County.

IF THESE JUVENILES CAN JUST WALK AWAY ANY TIME THEY WANT, WHY PUT THEM AWAY? DOES IT PROVIDE A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY?

Why are we becoming a soft society... this kid obviously knows what he is doing and has a past record.... put him i nthe with the big boys and let him see what it's like being put away. A&E is running the current version of scared straight... he can't get right, he deserves to be locked up and left to defend.

Given that he has a record, including charges serious enough to have him placed in detention, why is he being charged as a juvenile?
