Teen girl shot in the head in Greenbelt
A 16-year-old Greenbelt girl was shot last night outside at an apartment complex in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane, a spokeswoman for the Greenbelt Police Department said.
The girl -- who was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment -- was standing outside the apartment complex around 7:45 p.m. Monday when she was shot in the head by a male assailant, who then fled.
Police spokeswoman Kelly Lawson said that the police department had no further information about the assailant.

@ bolo4uall -- there is no excuse to shoot someone over an arguement!!!
I hope they figure out who he is and he goes to jail for a long time!!! She is still a child with her whole life ahead of her and now she's fighting for her life... It's a shame that those apartments have become so bad. I used to live there but moved when my son who's 9 witnessed a robbery/shooting...

IT IS REALLY SAD WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS YOUNG LADY. I CURRENTLY LIVE IN THE COMPLEX AND THE CRIME HAS GOTTEN WORSE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. GREENBELT POLICE REALLY SHOULD INCREASE THEIR PRESENCE IMMEDIATELY. A YOUNG LIFE CUT SHORT.. FOR WHAT? SENSELESS VIOLENCE. I HOPE THEY CATCH HIM AND SEND HIM TO JAIL FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
