Teen recovering from fall on Sugarloaf
Maryland State Police say a 17-year-old boy is recovering from serious injuries after he fell 30 to 50 feet while hiking on Sugarloaf Mountain near the Frederick County community of Stronghold.
Police said Monday they sent helicopters from Frederick and Forestville to rescue the teen Sunday afternoon.
They say one helicopter lowered a litter to rescue workers so the hiker could be hoisted out of the rugged area.
The injured young man was then transferred to the other chopper and taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment.

Good luck to him and I hope he fully recovers. Good thing Maryland has those helicopters and a world class state of the art shock-trauma center.
Those helicopters combined with the shock trauma unit can make the difference between life and death.
