Thirsty Turtle gives up its liquor license
The Thirsty Turtle bar in College Park bar is surrendering its liquor license, ABC7 reports.
The bar was scheduled to have a hearing before the Prince George's County Board of License Commissioners Wednesday night. That hearing has been canceled.
Turtle, as nearby students at the University of Maryland call it, has been opened for just three years. But the bar has been accused of lax carding at the door. And in October, police responded to a fight between intoxicated men who had been kicked out of the bar. Four young men, including three U-Md. students, were cut and wounded.

A correction: the Liquor Control Board says tonight's hearing has NOT been canceled. They're smart to make the record complete for the next time the owners apply for a license.

The owners decided their legal fees were just adding to their losses. Good riddance.
