Fire at Calvert mobile home park injures 4
Four people, including a firefighter, were injured in a fire at a mobile home park in Calvert County on Thursday night, authorities say.
A 47-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman were flown from Prince Frederick to the Washington Hospital Center burn center in Northwest Washington. The third victim, an 83-year-old woman, was transported by ambulance to Calvert Memorial Hospital, the Calvert County Volunteer Fire Department said. A firefighter suffered heat exhaustion, and was treated on the scene.
The fire in a trailer in the 6800 block of Hallowing Lane, in the Hallowing Point Mobile Home Park, caused about $50,000 damage, fire department spokeswoman Michelle Sigona said. Firefighters from Calvert were assisted by Charles County firefighters.
The call reporting the fire was received about 8:45 p.m. Firefighters who rushed to the scene found the trailer engulfed in flames.
