By Eric Athas

Two people were critically injured Sunday evening in a car crash in the Darnestown area of Montgomery County, authorities said. Capt. Oscar Garcia of the fire and rescue department said the collision occurred about 6 p.m. near River and Seneca Roads. Four people were less seriously injured, he said.

Authorities were also investigating a report about 9:30 p.m. of several injuries in a car crash on Interstate 270 in the Rockville area. Part of the road was reported blocked.
