Waldorf man dies in Beltway crash
A Waldorf man was killed on the Capital Beltway Wednesday when he tried to exit at the last moment and hit a guardrail, according to the Maryland State Police.
Ulric Wair, 68, was headed south on Interstate 495 near St. Barnabas Road in Prince George’s County when his car left a traffic lane at about 4:20 p.m. and hit a guardrail, said Trooper First Class D. Jackson.
Wair suffered massive head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident backed up rush-hour traffic on the beltway for more than an hour, Jackson said.
