Wale curses, Baltimore fumes

Baltimore officials are reviewing their contract with D.C. rapper Wale after he used profanity and racial slurs during a performance at a free, city-sponsored arts festival, WBAL.com reports.

Wale was the headliner Sunday on the main stage at Artscape.

Tracy Baskerville with Baltimore's Office of Promotion and the Arts says officials were deeply disturbed by the language he used. She says the office apologizes to anyone who found his performance offensive.

Baskerville says officials are reviewing the contract to ensure there was no miscommunication about the family-friendly nature of Artscape. It's not clear whether the city can take any legal action against Wale.

Wale's debut album, “Attention Deficit,” was released last year.

Wale came under fire in May for bagging an appearance at D.C. Black Pride's 20th Anniversary event at the Convention Center -- an event celebrating Washington's black LGBT community. He later appeared at the event.
