A 26-year-old woman was sexually assaulted early Sunday by two men who confronted her on Viers Mill Road in the Rockville area, authorities said.

Montgomery County police said she was walking along Viers Mill Road near Aspen Hill Road about 12:30 a.m. when the men accosted her and forced her into woods where they assaulted her.

County police said one of the men was described as 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 6 inches tall, and about 150 pounds with short dark hair. The other man was described as about the same height, with short spiky hair. Both were described as being in their mid-20s, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 240-773-5070.

habla illegals?

Did they have identifiable accents? Did they speak English or Spanish during the assault?

We should let people know this, as I'd hate to think we would unjustly arrest a law-abiding "undocumented" alien.

Two of Mexico's finest.

Is "assault" the new PC way of saying "rape"?

I live near that area.... both of those posts are valid!

The Washington Post somehow left out a pesky little detail from the official police news release.

"Both subjects are described as being in their mid-twenties and of Hispanic descent."

What is it with hispanic males? Racist? No. They bare it out themselves. This is why local crime rates have dropped in all catagories except rape.

Of course WaPo left it out. That pesky little detail is only relevant for WaPo when the perps are white.

Funny how the story doesn't say that the suspects are hispanic. I knew they were once I heard the assault occurred near Viers Mill Road.

I'm so glad to be living in a sanctuary state. NOT !

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Viers Mill Road from Wheaton to Rockville is a haven for lawlessness.

There are men who live in the surrounding parks who sit around all day and get drunk then go to the surrounding communities and harrass people. Most if not all of them are illegal aliens from south of the border.

Lots of drunks and jerks loiter right under the "do not loiter" sign in front of Rodman's. It's in spanish and english but gets ignored.

Police do nothing. County Government does nothing.

The whole area is going down the toilet.

Absolute journalistic dishonesty in leaving out thhe suspects are believed to be hispanic. It was in the police release and the Washington Post added everything but that one fact...WHY?

WaPo is not journalism and it has NO integrity.

Yeah. Like how "undocumented immigrant" is the new PC way of saying "illegal alien".

Someday soon, the Post censors will interrupt and respond with the "objectionable content" message whenever someone tries to use the words "illegal alien" in a post.

The news usually does a great job at identifying the ethnicity of criminals when they are Hispanic. It's rare when they specify non-Hispanic criminals. I am surprised to see them leave it out of this one.

What about all the rapes committed by legal immigrants? Does that make them less frighting? What about US-born citizens? Does it make you feel better if a rapist was "made in USA"?

I feel sorry for the victim, she must have eagle eyes for giving such a vivid description of her assailants in the pitch darkness of park. Aspenhill area is quickly becoming a thirdword country, lot of distressed properties and houses that have become hostel like where people can rent a room with no background checks etc for a short period of time. Many houses have so many cars parked around them and people going in an out all the time. Not sure why county or city enforce housing codes here.

There's a larger number than usual this year of people squatting in Rock Creek Park land on both sides of Veirs Mill between Aspen Hill and Twinbrook. I went morel hunting on several occasions in May and discovered many more people than mushrooms. The Park Police need to go in those areas and empty it out, people should be able to walk through the woods without worrying about anything but ticks, and there's getting to be a ton of beer bottles, etc in there now.
