Woman rescued from Clarksburg fire
Update, 8:53 p.m.:
A woman was rescued Tuesday from a townhouse fire in the Clarksburg area, Montgomery County fire officials said.
Firefighters responded about 5:20 p.m. to the 9800 block of Brook Ridge Court and found a fire in the kitchen, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a fire department spokesman. A woman was trapped on the top floor of a three-story townhouse, and firefighters rescued her with a ladder from a window, Garcia said.
The 21-year-old woman was taken to Shady Grove hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition after suffering from smoke inhalation.
Four people are being displaced by the fire, which caused an estimated $100,000 in damage, Garcia said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
