Wrong way driver hits car head-on in Anne Arundel
Anne Arundel County police say a man driving the wrong way on Route 100 rammed his pickup truck head-on into a car, critically injuring the other motorist.
Officials say 28-year-old Leon Franklin Medura Jr. of Crofton was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes early Thursday. He struck 36-year-old Olasupo Dosunmu of Hanover.
Crews cut Dosunmu from his car and took him to a hospital, where he was in critical condition. Medura and his passenger, 24-year-old Ashley Lauren Patterson of Crofton, were in serious condition.
Police say they had received calls about Medura just before the crash. They say the preliminary investigation shows that driver error, excessive speed and alcohol were contributing factors on Medura’s part. Charges could be pending.
