Md. students collect shoes for Haiti
Students at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro have collected more than 1,000 pairs of shoes to donate to children in Haiti, The Gazette reports.
Of the eight campuses in Prince George's County that took part in the shoe driver, Wise High students collected the most shoes, said Rev. Rosalyn Roberts, of Greater Mount Nebo AME Church in Bowie, who organized the overall drive. The other participating schools, along with Roberts' church, collected 18,000 pairs.
