Md. traffic stop leads to drug bust

By Washington Post editors

Frederick County police said a traffic stop for an equipment violation led to the seizure of powdered cocaine valued at $15,000 and marijuana valued between $20,000 and $30,000, reports the Frederick News-Post.

Two brothers, Torey Lee Howell, 23, and Gary Leon Howell, 26, face charges after officers said they discovered 20.5 pounds of marijuana, 380 grams of powdered cocaine, two counterfeit $10 bills and two handguns in their possession.

The department has not made this large of a drug bust through a traffic stop in years, Lt. Clark Pennington said.

That's what I don't understand about drug traffickers... you do what you do in a car with a bad tailight, or missing a tag light or turn signal blinker? Might as well put a sign on your roof that says "YES!!! pull me over please!!!"

An equipment violation huh? I bet it was a violation all right, driving while Black is the only violation these guys probably did wrong.

No, they were DWS...driving while stupid. If you're going to do that kind of business, you have to make sure that ALL details are covered, especially ones dealing with a vehicle.

I'm pretty much a legalize all drugs person. However, then I see the losers who are running the drug business, and I'm like "NO!" Bums.

think about it this way, these are mostly the types of people they catch.
if most drug traffic'ers were like these guys, there would be no drugs on the streets.
so most people driving around with drugs in their cars, have cars in perfect condition. they are also of varying demographics. old ladies, families, white, black, asian, etc, all types.
if only people who looked like drug dealers, were drug dealers, then profiling would work and the drug war would be over.

the cops just grab the low hanging fruit.
the best and the brightest get away with it.

if we really want to put drug dealers out of business, all we have to do is legalise it.

Why legalize the hidden killer? Aren't some of the people in America dumb enough?
